Clear the obvious clutter
You do not need to make the house spotless before a cleaner arrives, but clearing clothing, toys, paperwork and loose objects from the surfaces you want cleaned gives the cleaner access to the job you are paying for.
Share access instructions
Door codes, keys, alarm instructions, parking, pets and rooms that should remain closed all belong in the plan before the appointment.
Call out delicate surfaces
If a surface has a special product requirement, note it. The same goes for antiques, damaged fixtures or areas where normal cleaning products should not be used.
Pick the top priorities
If time becomes tight, what matters most? Bathrooms? Kitchen? Pet hair? Floors? Clear priorities help the job stay useful.
Do not hide the hard part
An accurate estimate depends on an accurate picture of the home. If something needs extra work, saying so ahead of time is much better than surprising everyone at the door.
